"I Don't Wanna Dance" is the first single from Hey Monday's EP Beneath It All, which is a follow up to their highly successful first album, Hold on Tight. On July 23, 2010, after announcing news of changes to Beneath It All from it an LP to an EP, Cassadee Pope released a 38-second preview of the single. The single was then released four days later on July 27, 2010[1] and a preview of the video was tweeted by Cassadee Pope.
The music video premiered on July 29, 2010 on MTV, as well as MTV.com.[2] It was directed by Petro Papahadjopoulos. In the beginning, it shows Pope in a black dress with hot pink leggings, performing with the rest of the band. Several clips are shown throughout the music video, all from the perspective of her "date"; he is shown hitting on several women in the video, and being rejected. Toward the end of the video, Cassadee is told about his actions, and tells him as the lyrics state, "you'll never take me home". At the end, he runs away as all the girls chase after him. Pope stands there as the girls swarm him.
As of September 3, 2010, it reached No. 7 on the "iLike Libraries: Most Added".[3]
